Typhoon Kristine (Trami) hit the Philippines last October 2024 leaving many families in distress, especially in the Bicol Region. There were massive floodings, damaged properties, loss of agricultural products and deaths in the family.
GAiN PH, in partnership with Cru Bicol, initiated a fundraising and disaster response to help these affected communities.
On October 26, 2024, relief goods were packed and distributed to 30 families in total: 15 families in San Nicolas, Iriga City, and 15 families in San Isidro, Iriga City.
On October 27, 2024, relief efforts reached 20 families in the areas of San Jose Salay, Buhi, Camarines Sur as well as 14 families in another area of Iriga City in partnership with a faith-based organization.
Moving Forward With You
As we move forward, GAiN PH is working towards a comprehensive “Relief-Rehab-Rebuild” approach to help communities recover and be resilient even to future disasters. We now focus on rehabilitation and recovery. This involves several projects like rebuilding damaged structures, livelihood, and psychosocial interventions.
