Hands busy and hearts full! GAiN Philippines, in partnership with GAiN Australia, has spent the past week bringing hope and healing to communities across Davao. As we wrap up this medical mission, we’re reminded that healthcare is also about connection and walking alongside communities that deserve quality care.
We conducted a total of seven clinics across the following areas:
- Sitio Marahan
- Brgy. Malamba
- Brgy. Magsaysay
- Brgy. Dalag
- Kibangay General Baptist Church
- Sitio Balite Marilog
- Brgy. Suawan
Our Impact in Numbers
- 906 patients served through medical consultations
- 423 pairs of glasses distributed, restoring sight and opening new possibilities
- 102 Luopads (handmade, washable feminine pads) distributed, bringing dignity and practical support to the women in the communities
Health Education Lectures
We also conducted a health education seminar in partnership with Magsaysay Church, covering the following topics:
- Mental Health
- Hygiene & Clean Water
- Dental Care
During the seminar, we were able to distribute:
- 24 water filters per family to ensure clean, safe drinking water
- 125 toothbrushes to promote better oral care and dental practices to adults and children alike
This is Just the Beginning
Behind every number is a person. Behind every medical consultation are families and communities that deserve access to quality healthcare. The medical mission may be over, but the work has just begun, and the impact will continue to ripple through these communities even after we’ve gone.
