We are delighted to share the news on having three new scholars for GAiN PH scholarship program for the school year 2023-2024.
Part of the selection process is to visit candidates in their homes to assess their needs by our GAiN Area Coordinating Officers Ramon and Nerissa Daen in Manito, Albay.
Nerissa chanced upon one of the candidates at home. She was not in school because they didn’t have enough money for her transportation that day. She was absent for a total of 24 days last school year due to lack of transportation money. She said she just exerted extra efforts for school work when she did get to school.
Three weeks ago, they had their orientation for the new scholars with their parents. They are now ready with school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and transportation reimbursements.
Last September 23, 2023, the 8 scholars in Manito, Albay had their school year’s first huddle and enrichment class led by Nerissa and some volunteers.
This project has been made possible in partnership with GAiN PH President Rod Santos and Tiwala Kids and Communities of Legazpi City who handles 8 more scholars.
We express our thanks to friends, relatives, and family of the scholars for their moral support. We thank the sponsors of GAiN PH for the trust and support to enable our scholarship program to assist these deserving students. We appreciate all the people involved for supporting our vision of addressing poverty and other social ills through educational assistance for the youth. We really could not do this apart from you.
