GAiN PH President Rod with Malou, wife and also GAiN PH staff, headed to Basilan for a rehabilitation project. They spent an hour on a boat ride from Zamboanga to Basilan.
In partnership with some local leaders and their contacts, GAiN PH sets up solar power in this province November 4 to 6, 2023.
The travel time from the town proper was 3 hours in total to reach one of the two locations situated in the outskirts on the mountains – 2.5 hours by a beat up mini truck and another 30 minutes hike.
Being poor, the family don’t have appliances and furniture in their home. Everyone ate on the floor as shown in the photo above. GAiN PH installed the solar power set and they were so appreciative.
Regardless of ethnicity, GAiN PH upholds its mission to demonstrate the love of God, in word and deed. We are thankful for this trip that we are able to reach our kababayans residing in the mountain side and across the sea, and alleviate their living condition through development initiative.
